About Us

Who We Are

We have been supporting literacy skills in the Craigmillar community since 1998. We work to achieve our vision that every person is empowered through literacy.

Our Projects

Our programmes are designed in consultation with the communities of Craigmillar, Niddrie, Magdalene and Bingham in Edinburgh, Scotland. We work in partnership with individuals and agencies including:

  • Children and young people
  • Parents and carers
  • Health visitors
  • Speech and language therapists
  • The local library
  • Early years settings
  • Schools and community groups.

Our Values

  • Being relationship-based
  • Rooted in the community where we work
  • Partnership and collaboration with others
  • Creating an environment that is nurturing and grows people’s potential
  • Empowering people to explore and define literacy on their own terms
  • Being inclusive and valuing people
